ODDfest 2026 Launch Event

On Wednesday 28th, we unveiled the first look at our second edition infront of a live audience at Bio Rex Lasipalatsi in Helsinki.

There, we announced our first speakers and introduced our wider vision alongside ODDfest’s refreshed brand.

As a quick program round-up: the initial lineup will feature leading voices from the Finnish creative economy including rap artist and social activist Karri “Paleface” Miettinen, DJ and producer-songwriter Otto “Yotto” Yliperttula, entrepreneur Peter Vesterbacka (known for Rovio and Slush), DJ and music journalist Juska “DJ Orion” Wendland, CEO and architect Samppa Lappalainen of JKMM Architects (known for designing city landmarks such as Amos Rex), and Permanent Secretary Heidi Backman from Finland’s Ministry of Education and Culture.

In signature ODDfest fashion, the programme will bring together innovative performances and talks that challenge conventional ways of thinking.

This year’s lineup is is curated by our multidisciplinary curator board, including dancer-coreographer Minna Tervamäki, dancer-actress Suvi Honkanen, filmmaker-producer Otto Kylmälä, actress Pihla Viitala, contemporary artist Johanna Oras, music producer and consultant Jonas Verwijnen, event expert Ukko-Pekka Itäpelto, game designer Emmi Kärnä, change leadership specialist Karoliina Jarenko, and sisu researcher Elisabet Lahti.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and showed curiosity by taking a peek behind the curtain. We are in awe of the excitement that could be felt in the room with us and the lovely community already forming around this movement.

A special thank you to the evening’s guest speakers and performers: CEO of Radio Helsinki and G Livelab, Jukka Hätinen, Policy Director of Kulta ry, Maria Jokinen, dancer Sofia Repo, and new media artist, graphic designer, and DJ Karoliina Pärnänen.
